Beaumont-de-Pertuis is a charming village<\/strong> nestled in the heart of Provence, surrounded by rolling hills, vineyards, and picturesque landscapes that provide endless inspiration for artists. Its tranquil atmosphere and rich cultural heritage<\/strong> make it an ideal setting for an artist residency. The village offers a peaceful escape from the hustle and bustle of urban environments. Located in the easternmost part of Luberon, this quaint village is steeped in history. In its medieval heyday, it thrived with prosperity, and during the 13th century, it was counted among the most expansive communes in France !<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Records of Beaumont’s existence can be traced back to 1079, mentioning Eucherius of Lyon<\/a>. Before his archbishop tenure, Eucherius sought solitude in a cave<\/a> overlooking the Durance river, situated to the town’s south. This cave, over time, transformed into a revered pilgrimage destination, and a chapel was eventually sculpted within the mountain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Benefitting from its vast terrain shielded by hills and the privileges adeptly secured from its many lords, the village was affectionately termed Beaumont-les-Nobles for a considerable period. Today, with a population hovering around a thousand as of 2020, its inhabitants proudly identify as \u201cBeaumontais<\/p>\n\n\n\n
