Het huis<\/strong><\/h1>\n\n\n\n


Het hoofdgebouw van \u201cHet Huis van Beaumont\u201d<\/strong> is een prachtig gerestaureerd herenhuis (het voormalige stadhuis van Beaumont-de-Pertuis) dat historische charme naadloos combineert met moderne voorzieningen.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het huis werd gebouwd in het begin van de 18e eeuw en dateert van kort na de aardbeving van 1708, die schade toebracht aan delen van het dorp, waaronder de nabijgelegen kerk Saint Jean Baptiste en de gemeenschappelijke broodoven van het dorp, die nu deel uitmaakt van de innerlijke kelders<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De oostelijke muur van het huis is gebouwd rond de toren van het oude kasteel<\/a> van Beaumont, dat in de 16e eeuw werd verwoest tijdens de godsdienstoorlogen waarbij katholieken die loyaal waren aan de \u201cLigue\u201d tegenover protestanten stonden, die banden hadden met de \u201cHugenots\u201d. ingang van de toren<\/a> is tijdens de renovatie blootgelegd en is nu zichtbaar<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

De externe kelders<\/a> van het huis vormen een enorm labyrint van onderling verbonden ruimtes, waaronder de oud waterreservoir<\/a>, net zo oud als de kerk zelf en daterend uit de 12e eeuw.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Het huis werd tot het einde van de 18e eeuw gebruikt als de "Demeure Seigneuriale" door de vertegenwoordiger van de koning van Frankrijk. Het werd overgenomen tijdens de Franse Revolutie en werd uiteindelijk het stadhuis van de stad tot het begin van de 20e eeuw toen het hele gebouw werd gerenoveerd om te dienen als de basisschool van de stad. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
